River Run Centre - 35 Woolwich St., Guelph
It is a story of love, intrigue and a clash of cultures. Set in 1862, when the American civil War was raising questions about slavery all over the world, The King and I tells the story of the English teacher who challenges the King's 'ownership' of his wives and concubines. A dance version of Uncle Tom's Cabin, the ultimate anti-slavery story, is the highlight of the second act. Call (519) 821-7267 for more details and (519) 763-3000 for tickets.
